When I found out that Shanna Noel, creator of Illustrated Faith, wrote a book I HAD to read it! And thankfully Dayspring sent me a copy. Even though this little gem got lost in the mail for a few days I started reading as soon as I got my hands on this gem!
If you have been around my blog you know I love Illustrated Faith, and if you haven’t been around it won’t be long before you notice. BUT what you may not know is WHY I LOVE Shanna and Illustrated Faith.
Shanna created this little Bible Journaling Community on Facebook a few years back… I joined the group in Aug 2014 when there weren’t even 200 of us. When I discovered what Shanna was doing in her Bible and how she was connecting with God’s Word on a creative level, it was like FREEDOM washed over me!
In the pic above you see my first ESV journaling bible I got in Aug 2014 and still haven’t retired yet and then the bottom NIV journaling bible is one I started journaling in this summer and really started using in Jan of this year to #journaltheyear17 with @asetofbibles on Instagram. You can read some of my first bible journaling posts here & here and then which bible I used here when I first started.
I thought at first that since I was around Illustrated Faith from pretty close to the start that this book wouldn’t really be that beneficial to me… and thankfully I was wrong! While Shanna does go over her testimony a little and I have heard it before, there is so much more packed into this book. Above is a pic of the Table of contents. What’s great about the sections in that Shanna has some reflection and workbook like application at the end of each chapter. There are awesome quotes throughout the book too!
This verse y’all! Don’t we all want to finish this faith race well!?
Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride. – Ecclesiastes 7:8 NLT
I haven’t been able to get too far into the book yet but I think this book will be one of growth! 10 Ways to Fall in Love with Your Bible and Stay in Love would be good for those season bible journaling veterans and newbies. Bible journaling isn’t just a trend for me, it’s been a way to connect with God’s Word and God on a different level. Also the bible journaling community is also one of positive encouragement and sisterhood!
