Illustrated Faith | Free to Flourish Kit

I know I say this every month, “Wow, this IF Kit is my favorite!” but it’s the truth! And it’s always an awesome day when you IF KIT is in the mailbox! That was this past Tuesday for me! I was going out of town for a Pastor’s and Wives Retreat and I was crossing my fingers my kit would be in the mail before I left. I was going to be minus 3 kiddos so I hoped I could do some bible journaling while I was gone on our trip.

And it made it to my house before I left (just by 1 hour) and it was a GOOD DAY! (By the way I like the cute new packaging of the kits! At first I was sad because I liked the box and they stacked well, but I love the fun of the new packing and the freedom of NOT feeling like I HAVE to keep the box…) speaking of freedom…

This month’s Devo kit Free to Flourish, featuring Designer Bekah Blankenship , speaks all about freedom we have in Christ and it is beautiful! The watercolor look of the kit elements give us visual freedom as well. I find watercolors (like this IF Watercolor Set) so freeing to work with. I get a brush, water and some paint, smear some paint on my page, wait for it to dry, then add some pen on top of it. It’s simple and so beautiful. I also love how watercolors just dance on top of the paper.

Let’s look at the kit a bit closer shall we?!

Excerpt from Dayspring:
Do you desire to live your life in freedom…the freedom God desires for each of us?—Freedom from…?  Freedom to…?  In the Free to Flourish devotional kit, Bekah Blankenship insightfully gives prompts for “prayerful thought and reflection” and desires us to “step into the freedom God has so sweetly given each one of us.”  “I am certain of God’s plan to bring you out of an existence of simply surviving into one of thriving.  You were made to flourish, my friend!”  —Bekah

This year my one little word happens to be REST and more importantly finding freedom in Christ to REST and let Him work and stop trying to do things in my own strength. I almost cried a little when I saw that the stamp set this month had the word REST included. It was like God was saying “Remember I know you Ashley, I know what you need, remember to rest.”

I color the colors of this kit. Bright airy watercolory (yes i just made up that word) fun! It reminds me of my fun fabric banner and “my style” of messy and beautiful! I really love everything about this kit, all of the elements of the kit and especially how Bekah speaks to us in the devotional.

I can’t wait to dive into this kit and start journaling and reflecting on what God has to say to me through Bekah and HIS WORD!
