Once fall started rolling around, I made this little Fall Bucket List with things the girls and I would like to do this fall. I have to say that I am most excited about this item on the list {Make Homemade Caramels} and I’m not sure if it’s because of the LOVE I have for Caramels or if it just sounds like total fun…. but I think it’s my love caramels.
So tonight, on a rainy and cold evening, I decided the best way to kick off the first night of fall break {yes I’m taking all week off} was to make these little lovelys.
These were so easy to make!
Gather your ingredients:
1cup White Sugar
1cup Brown Sugar
1cup Light Karo Syrup
1cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Stick of Butter
I used my favorite mixing jar, the Large Batter Bowl from Pampered Chef, to mix all of my ingredients in and pop it in the microwave for 2 mins. Then take it out, stir and pop it back in. Do this 4 times for a total cooking time of 8 mins. It’s that simple!
After it gets done taking a sauna for 8 mins, pour the mixture into a lightly greased baking dish to cool.
Now here is a tricky part… you are going to want to try the caramels right away BUT warning, it WILL burn your finger or tongue or whatever else you try to get it with. Trust me, I’m not lying.
After the caramels cool you can cut them and wrap them in wax paper to pass out as treats… or you can eat the whole pan like I plan on doing and save yourself the wrapping.
Happy Caramel Making Y’all!
