The city of ancient Corinth was much like our own modern-day cities: a melting pot of electrifying cultural experiences to be had, along with the myriad pitfalls of spiritual depravity. Still, Paul wrote to the church of God in Corinth. Meaning God’s church is meant to thrive in any city and every circumstance in which we find ourselves. Paul’s letter is as timely as ever.
Over 8 sessions in this Bible study workbook, Kelly Minter will lead you through the Letter of 2 Corinthians, exploring the anchoring truths of bearing treasures in jars of clay, meeting Christ through a pressing thorn, opening wide your heart in the midst of hurtful relationships, and what it means to embrace the lost and lonely as ministers of the new covenant. Each of us has a message to proclaim and live by: Because of Jesus the old has gone, the new has come.

My Personal Notes and Take aways.
Session 1 Notes:
80,000 people in Macedonia around 55ad. It was a bustling area. What came to mind was our “Vegas”. So much to do, look at, shopping power, delicious foods, grand building, art … and sin lots of sin. Plenty of inappropriate things to do, look at and experience. Everything you could imagine at your fingertips but also all the corrupt and dark things too.
The church of God is meant to thrive in REAL LIFE not just in spiritual settings. It’s easy to follow Gos when we are at and Church conference, Church Camp, Church, etc. but is it so easy to be faithful and obedient when the world is trying to lead us astray?
We view weakness as a bad thing but often times the Lord uses our weakness, and when we rely on Him our weakness is made strong.
We are so fragile beings. Jars of clay. Delicately made but hold such precious contents. Our soul matters for eternity and when our bodies die our soul lives somewhere for the rest of eternity. Where will that Soul and Spirit live? It matters!
