What was the single best thing that happened this past year?
I think our family vacation to the beach. It was a much needed time or rest and relaxation, fun and family! The girls got to see the beach for the very first time. They were able to walk along the very same beach that Mark and I got married. Gulf Shores, AL will forever be in our family’s heart! We can’t wait to go again this summer.
What was the single most challenging thing that happened?
Being faithful in what the Lord was asking us to do. Not questioning the chain of events in our lives last January and looking at each thing as a great adventure. He still keeps us on our toes and sometimes I wish He would just let us be… but then I realize we wouldn’t be in His hands at that point. So no matter what we go through, we what to make sure we are listening and watching for God in all of it.
What was an unexpected joy this past year?
I think it would have to be the fact that I pretty much got my dream job. In God’s timing, He provided a means of financial support and a creative outlet for me. I feel that He has gifted me in some small areas and it’s not everyday that you get paid to use those gifts. I’m very thankful.
What was an unexpected obstacle?
Just trying to juggle this new life and ministry. We still aren’t in a routine and it seems that life here won’t ever be normal.
Pick three words to describe 2012:
Roller-coaster, Home Sick, Timing (okay that’s really 4 but you get the picture)
Best Books you read this year?
I don’t remember reading much… even though I have a million books (okay not really but almost). I have loved our Sunday school classes’ 30 Life Principles.
With whom were your most valuable relationships?
I would have to say Micah, Marci, and Val. These ladies are all new to my 2012 life and so thankful God allowed them to be apart of 2012! Can’t wait to see what you get into in 2013.
What was your biggest personal change from Jan – Dec this past year?
Being a CC Tutor! Each week the kids and mamas that I get to enjoy is beyond amazing and how this tutoring “gig” has stretched me so! I love our Classical Conversations community and pray we will continue to be apart of CC.
