Thirty days of simple family meals, cozy fall dinners, and one less thing to think about this November.
I don’t know about you, but by the time November rolls around, I’m ready for life to slow down just a little.
Of course, November doesn’t always get that memo.
Between school schedules, family activities, holiday preparations, and everything else that comes with keeping a household running, figuring out what to feed everyone can start feeling like a full-time job.
And somehow, even after grocery shopping, there’s always someone standing in front of the refrigerator asking what we have to eat.
Usually while staring directly at an entire refrigerator full of food. 😂
That’s exactly why I love having a meal plan.
Not because I follow it perfectly. Believe me, I don’t.
But because having a plan makes one part of our busy family life a little easier.
So, I’ve put together a FREE November Family Meal Plan with 30 days of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack ideas to help make feeding your family easier and more affordable this month.
And yes, it’s completely free!
Why I Love Monthly Meal Planning
As a mom of seven, I’ve learned that feeding a family takes more planning than I ever imagined.
It’s not just dinner.
It’s breakfast before school, lunches, snacks for the kids who are somehow hungry fifteen minutes after eating, and the nightly question of what we’re going to have for dinner.
Multiply that by an entire month, and that’s a lot of decisions!
Having a monthly family meal plan helps me:
- Spend less on groceries. Planning ahead helps me buy what we’ll actually use instead of wandering through the store hoping dinner inspiration will strike.
- Cut back on eating out. It’s much easier to avoid grabbing takeout when I already have a plan for dinner.
- Reduce food waste. I can use ingredients across several meals instead of letting half-used bags of vegetables disappear into the back of the refrigerator.
- Make busy evenings easier. Even when the day gets away from me, I have somewhere to start.
- Keep meals simple. Not every dinner needs to be a Pinterest-worthy masterpiece. Sometimes sandwiches and soup are exactly what we need.
And probably my favorite reason?
It frees up a little mental space.
Because moms have enough to remember already.

Easy, Budget-Friendly Family Dinners for November
There’s just something about November that makes me want to cook all the cozy things.
Soups, casseroles, slow-cooker dinners, warm bread, and meals that make the house smell like somebody has been cooking all day.
Even better when the slow cooker has actually been doing most of the work.
Some of my favorite types of November family dinners include:
Hearty soups and chili: Perfect for chilly evenings, easy to make in large batches, and often even better the next day.
Casseroles and one-pan meals: Because sometimes the best dinner is the one that doesn’t leave you with every dish in the kitchen to wash.
Slow-cooker dinners: Especially helpful on days when the afternoon gets away from you.
Simple comfort foods: Think spaghetti, homemade chicken pot pie, baked potatoes, and other familiar meals that everyone can enjoy.
Leftover-friendly meals: Making a little extra today can save you from cooking an entirely new meal tomorrow.
I also love including a few really easy dinners throughout the month. Not every night needs a complicated recipe.
Sometimes breakfast for dinner is the plan.
And sometimes that plan is everybody’s favorite.
How to Save Money on Groceries This November
One of the biggest reasons I create monthly meal plans is to help keep our grocery spending under control.
Groceries aren’t getting any cheaper, and when you’re feeding a larger family, those little extras add up quickly.
Here are a few things that help me stretch our grocery budget.
1. Shop Your Pantry First
Before making your grocery list, look at what you already have.
You might have enough pasta, rice, beans, frozen vegetables, or canned goods to make several meals without buying much at all.
2. Use Ingredients More Than Once
If you’re buying a big bag of potatoes, plan several meals that use potatoes.
The same goes for ground beef, chicken, rice, and vegetables.
The fewer specialty ingredients you need, the easier it is to keep your grocery costs down.
3. Plan for Leftovers
Leftovers aren’t a failure of meal planning. They’re one of its greatest benefits!
A little extra chicken can become wraps, quesadillas, or soup the following day.
4. Keep a Few Emergency Meals Available
Every family needs a backup dinner for the days when absolutely nothing goes according to plan.
Frozen pizza, spaghetti, grilled cheese, or breakfast for dinner can keep an exhausting day from turning into an expensive takeout night.
5. Give Yourself Permission to Change the Plan
This might be the most important one.
A meal plan is supposed to make your life easier, not give you another thing to feel guilty about.
If Tuesday’s dinner becomes Thursday’s dinner, that’s okay.
If you end up eating leftovers instead of making something new, even better.
And if one evening calls for cereal and everyone survives?
Well, I’d call that a successful evening.
Thanksgiving and Your November Meal Plan
November is a little different from other months because Thanksgiving brings its own grocery shopping, cooking, and family traditions.
I like to think of Thanksgiving as its own special occasion rather than trying to squeeze it into an ordinary dinner routine.
Depending on your family’s plans, you may want to swap a few meals around during Thanksgiving week.
And don’t forget about those leftovers!
Turkey sandwiches, turkey soup, casseroles, and other simple meals can help stretch your holiday groceries a little further.
You don’t have to cook an entirely new meal every night when there’s already plenty of food in the refrigerator.
How to Use Your Free November Meal Plan
Here’s the thing: you don’t have to follow this meal plan exactly.
I created it to give you ideas and take some of the pressure off planning meals.
You can:
- Follow the entire month as written.
- Choose your favorite meals and repeat them.
- Swap dinners around to fit your schedule.
- Adjust portions for your family size.
- Use it as inspiration when you’re stuck in a dinner rut.
Print it out, put it on your refrigerator, and make it work for your family.
That’s what it’s there for.
