He made me to crave creativity and community and to be honest I have been lacking in both areas lately, until now.
Enter–>> Bible Journaling
I LOVE the word of God and digging into what He has to share with me through His words. I can get lost for hours in his love letter to His children and I can also get lost for hours in creating and designing. What better than to pair them together and create something beautiful?! A better relationship with my Lord.
This little Journaling Bible Community on Facebook has transformed my Facebook news feed into uplifting and inspiring works of art and God’s Word. It’s great and like a breathe of fresh air in contrast to all the other stuff on my newsfeed.
So what is Bible Journaling?
Well I guess it’s different for everyone. For me it’s getting into God’s Word and highlighting what jumps out. Taking what the Spirit speaks and creating art with it. I really like this quote I found online:
Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.
– Thomas Merton
So now I need to get supplies:
I decided to go with this Bible–>
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version, Journaling Bible (Original, Black)
Take a closer look a the Bible I choose.
I’ve been using this little pen to journal along with these. I intended to use this pen as my main go to but it was dried up so it looks like I need to get another… maybe 2 or 3 and would like to grab me one of these and maybe some of these… okay I see a pattern here. lol Please don’t get too crazy with supplies… okay maybe I said that for myself to hear!
Then I have a whole stash of stickers and elements from years of scrapbooking! You can really use any sticker or alpha and create a cute page!
I also use Mister Huey Color Mists & Haidi Swapp Color Shine and ink pads and these dual tip markers (but watch out these do bleed but I love them).
Now I need some inspiration.
Inspiration is everywhere! On social media, in nature, amongst relationships and just HIS spirit alone. All you need to bible journal is something to write on and something to write with. Of course all the supplies make it fun and pretty… but if you don’t have those things don’t let that keep you from diving into God’s Word and getting lost!

Take a closer look a the Bible I choose. I like this bible, it was cheaper than others I found and just basic, which leaves lots of room for me to get down on paper what God is speaking to me.
I can’t wait to share with you the pages that will speak to me and share my journaling journey with you. My hope and prayer is that you get some inspiration from what I share and that it encourages you to open the pages of your Bible and spend some time with the Lord.

God sent me directly to your blog today (via Pinterest of course). I’ve been longing for something creative and have been feeling led to do more bible study. Today I’d been thinking of getting a journal to keep as I attempt to read the bible in a year. I love this journaling Bible concept. I too am a homeschooling, essential oil using momma. I’m looking so forward to following your blog. God bless!
Oh Amanda that blessed me so much to read! I have really had fun digging deeper into the Word and using my creative side at the same time. Funny that we have so much in common! Thanks for following and I pray the Lord blesses your New Year!
