We are a family of 6 and it can get pretty hard to cook something that the kids and I will all like. So naturally planning meals in our house can get hard. Not to mention that we homeschool so the lunch is on me, I can’t just pay the school to feed them.
When the kids asked if we could have fish sticks for lunch (um yes store bought in a box) I was excited because we hadn’t eaten fish sticks in so long and it’s something we all like… but then I realized we didn’t have any tartar sauce. So naturally, I turned to Pinterest. Like many moms, I search Pinterest for recipes and lunch ideas and treats. I mean Pinterest is better than Google in the land of motherhood. Just saying! I came across this recipe for tartar sauce from Natasha’s Kitchen and used it as a base. However I just don’t have dill laying around in my pantry… but oh wait I do!
Not your average household pantry staple but it totally should be Dill Essential Vitality Oil. I love the way dill tastes and smells. Whenever I open this bottle I literally have to refrain from licking the bottle ?! Weird?! Yeah I know right?! lol
Here is how I made it:
Ingredients:
2 drops Dill Vitality Essential Oil
2 tbsp Onion
1 cup minced Dill pickles
1 tsp Lemon juice
1 cup Mayonnaise
Freshly Ground Black pepper to taste
1/2 tsp Sugar
I enjoy the chunks of pickle and onion, you can omit these ingredients if you don’t care for them but I think they add a needed bite to the sauce. I’m happy to have my oils on hand to create sauces and dips when I need. No running to the store or holding off on a meal when I have my Vitality Essential Oils to cook with!
