It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here and the weather here is feeling like Christmas too! I’ve been working like a little elf to get the Holly Jolly Christmas set out and I’m so excited it’s finished!
This year I don’t have an “Advent Devotional” like I have in the past. To be honest some great things have happened this year like adding another blessing to our family and my husband finishing his doctorate … but we also had a lot of hard things happen like spending most of February taking care of my sick family (The Lord kept me healthy to take care of them!), figuring out how to do ministry with Covid restrictions, my husband finishing his doctorate (it’s such a stressful thing y’all! who knew?!), navigating loss of income and helping others in our church with that as well, my daughter spending 4 nights in the hospital for a crazy skin infection that reached her bone, adding a new baby to the mix and trying to figure out how to do life with one more, my husband undergoing surgery and recovery and then there is the most recent of the finger accident of my sweet little boy Rhett which landed us in the ER, praise God he is alright and has all his fingers! AND with all that I’ve gone through this year, I KNOW it’s been much harder on some of you!
But God is Good (ALL the Time!)

And while I’m doing 12 days of Christmas and not Advent, this devo will focus on a little Christmas Cheer and a little Christian Growth, your pages may look a little different while journaling this year. You may even decide not to journal in your Bible at all and create something new.
