I had my 1st ZYTO back in May with Myra from Oily Families.
Wait ZYTO… what is that you ask, well it’s a little body communication device that is used by thousands of health professionals around the globe. You place your hand on the device and it scans your body to see which products could be beneficial for you to use. It takes the guessing out of which oils and supplements my body needs. It’s pretty cool!
I was very excited to see what oils would come up on my profile. I zyto’ed for Fennel, Patchouli, Ginger, Citronella with 33 biomarkers out of range. It was fun to see what those oils are good for.
Fennel was my top oil bringing 17 biomarkers into range! What! Crazy! Oh wait this makes total sense, I am nursing and this oil is helpful in that department. Let’s say I couldn’t buy this one quick enough. I also should say that I didn’t like the smell at first but it’s growing on me. It’s not bad but it’s not my cup of tea. Oh wait, it may be good in a tea.
Fennel: (Foeniculum vulgare) has a sweet, earthy, anise-like aroma that is energizing, vitalizing, and balancing. It is stimulating to the circulatory, glandular, respiratory, and digestive systems.* It also may support feelings of well-being during the menstrual cycle.*
Fennel has an approximate ORAC of 2,383,680 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter.
How to use: Possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Dilution not required; suitable for all but the most sensitive skin. Generally safe for children over 2 years of age.
Use with caution if epileptic or pregnant.
Next was Patchouli and it would bring 7 biomarkers into range. Now at first I was like, “No the scent my mom likes to burn???” Yep that’s the one! I hated that smell growing up, and you know what, the essential oil smells nothing like that. I love it! I diffuse this in my house now and it smells wonderful!
Patchouli: (Pogostemon cablin), sometimes called “the scent of the sixties,” has a musky, earthy, exotic aroma. In Eastern cultures, it is commonly used around the house to provide general support for health and to help release negative emotions. It is very beneficial for the skin, helping to reduce a wrinkled or chapped appearance. Patchouli is a general tonic that supports the digestive system and soothes occasional queasiness.*
Patchouli has an approximate ORAC of 494,271 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter.
How to use: For dietary, aromatic, or topical use. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid such as goat’s or rice milk.
Possible skin sensitivity. Dilution not required; suitable for all but the most sensitive skin. Generally safe for children over 2 years of age.
Now I didn’t order Ginger and that was on accident. Somehow I keep forgetting to but this guy in my ER Order for 3 months now and I could have totally used this on our deep-sea fishing trip back in June. It would have brought 5 bio markers into range.
Ginger: (Zingiber officinale) has a warm, spicy fragrance that is energizing. Supportive of the digestive system, ginger is commonly used to soothe, comfort, and balance digestive discomfort.* It may also be used to enhance the flavor of foods.
Ginger has an approximate ORAC of 992,571 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter.
Possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Dilution recommended for both topical and internal use. Dilute before using on sensitive areas such as the face, neck, genital area, etc. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid using on infants and very small children.
I kinda wondered why I got this one, Citronella, but was excited to get it and smell it. The state bird in Alabama is the mosquito, oh wait that’s not true but they are HUGE here and there’s a lot of them, this oil was going to help with that this summer! Citronella would bring 2 bio markers into range.
Citronella: (Cymbopogon nardus) essential oil is popularly used as an insect deterrent. Traditionally it has also been used to prevent food spoilage due to fungus and bacteria. <— I didn’t know that!
How to use:
Dietary: Dilute one drop with V-6TM Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex or other vegetable oil (e.g., virgin coconut, olive, almond). Put in a capsule and take up to three times daily or as needed. Topical: Dilute one drop with V-6 or other vegetable oil; apply to desired area. Aromatic: Diffuse up to 30 minutes three times daily. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition, consult a health- care practitioner prior to use.
Ingredients: 100% pure therapeutic grade citronella (Cymbopogon nardus) leaf/stem essential oil
Now after looking at my list of oils that my body needed, something stood out. These all had a little to do with digestive issues and I didn’t think that I had a “problem” in that area because my experiences weren’t as bad as some of my friends, but actually I was struggling in the digestive area.
Here is a word of advice, don’t compare your health to others. If you don’t feel good find out why, it could change your life!
